WHOSE SIDE ARE YOU ON?
IS THERE A CAUTION TOLD TO US FOR SUCH A TIME AS
THIS?
Let's start this talk with a quick look at a famous servant of
God in the OT that had no problem knowing whose side he was on.
His name is, Joshua. Joshua served as a personal attendant to
Moses (Exodus 24:13). He was of the tribe of Ephraim, and
before Moses' death he was commissioned as successor, and led
the people in their conquest of Canaan (Numbers 27:18-20).
Knowing full well whose side he represented, his awesome
spiritual qualities were faith, courage, obedience, and devotion
to the law of God.
There is no question that Joshua knew who his enemy was, and he
diligently served Jehovah God. Is it any surprise that is name
means, "Yahweh is salvation?" Joshua was committed to God and
was about God's business. Joshua asked the people the same
question Jesus is asking you and me today, and the following is
his warning, his question, and his answer. "Now
therefore, fear the Lord and serve Him in sincerity and truth;
and put away the gods which your fathers served beyond the river
and in Egypt, and serve the Lord, choose for yourselves today
whom you will serve, but as for me and my house, we will serve
the Lord" (Joshua 24:14-15).
THE CAUTION!!
The time is now to choose whose side you are on! The
every day television news we watch should be warning enough that
something eminent is about to happen to life as we know it!
Peter cautions us of the danger of not choosing in 1
Peter 5: 8-9, where he says this: "Be of sober spirit, be on
alert, your adversary, the devil, prowls about like a roaring
lion, seeking someone to devour." Keep this in mind...while
we do have a real enemy who seeks the destruction of those who
choose Jesus our Redeemer, we are not defenseless. We have His
strength and energy that He gives those who have chosen and are
on His righteous side. Nothing is stronger than this!
The same power almighty God used to raise His Son from the
grave...that resurrection power...is ours!!
So, I ask again...whose side are you on? If
you choose today the right side, you can rest in the fact that
Jesus won the victory and heralds the name of all who believe in
Him before His Father's throne of grace. Nothing can ever
separate us from His eternal love. Read Romans 8:38-39 and
choose today Jesus as your Lord and Savior, and live eternally
with Him. You can choose to do this right now...bow
your head praying and asking Him to forgive you, by confessing
your sins to Him. Tell Him you want Him to come into your heart
and life. Tell Him that you will live from this day forward
serving and worshipping Him. Amen. By making this choice
today, He will welcome you into His family graciously and
lovingly for making your firm stand today, claiming His side,
the One who came to earth to give His life as a ransom for all
mankind. HIS HEART CALL IS NOW, & YOU JUST CHOSE
EVERLASTING LIFE!!
