The Rapture

Explained From 2 Thessalonians Chapter 1 & 2

Called, Saved  and Promised to be kept out of the Great Tribulation Period: Proverbs 25:7,  Rev. 4:1,2, 1 Thess 4:16, Ps. 47:5, 1 Cor 15:52,  Rev 3:10,  John 14:3, 2 Tim 4:8, Matt 24:38,39 1 Pet 3:19,20, 2 Pet 2:4,5

The Lord Comes!

BEHOLD, HE IS COMING WITH THE CLOUDS, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him. Even so. Amen. (Rev 1:7 NASB)

David said in Psalm 47:5 that the Lord ascends from heaven with the sound of His trumpet. When Jesus comes it will be at the sound of the last Trumpet, that the Lord Jesus will raise the dead and change the living bodily, 1 Thess 4:16. Quickly the Lord removes the true Saints from earth like a thief robs your house and is quickly gone with the goods, so the Lord Jesus Christ will do likewise, snatching away all the Saints in the twinkling of an eye, 1 Cor. 15:52.  Jesus Christ said, because we have kept the testimony of the cross alive, He would also keep us from that time and that hour which is coming upon the entire world, Rev 3:10.  God said, it is better for you it be said to, “Come Up Here!” Proverbs 25:7, when he opens the doors of heaven and calls all of us who believe in Jesus Christ as personal savior, to “Come Up Here!” Rev. 4:1, 2. Jesus promised to go and prepare a place, return and receive all of us who love His appearing, John 14:3 and 2 Tim 4:8. We are reminded to look back to the days of Noah for the same kind of apostasy to repeat itself. In Noah’s case very few were saved from what was coming upon the entire world. Only 8 People went into the ark that day. After Noah went into the Ark, the people recognized Noah’s boat was a reality to save their lives, and they needed to enter into the boat, they pounded on the door demanding that Noah let them in but Noah did not open the door of the boat. When it was finished, it was finished. The door was to stay closed. As the water was rising and the boat was lifting, terror was on the faces of all of them who did not believe, 1 Pet 3:20. God did not spare a man after that. It was too late. They didn’t listen to the warnings of the appointed preachers. They mocked and laughed at the prophecies until the day came and the flood swept them all away.

The Great Apostasy of Noah’s Day Repeated!

Paul in his second epistle to the Thessalonians (2 Thess 1-2) discusses with the Church the fact that the Lord Jesus Christ had not returned yet, and you know this by observing the signs and spiritual evidence of future events.

Encouragement for Your Faith

·         First Paul encourages and applauds the faith of the Thessalonians

1.    Paul tells this Church that because their faith had greatly increased and your love towards one another grows even greater. Paul says because of this they brag to other Churches regarding their faith of the Thessalonians and their perseverance and endurance, through their trial and afflictions.

2.    Our Trials are “Righteous Judgment” from God, that we may be considered fit, or worthy. It is the Kingdom that all the Saints of God suffer for! After all, it is God who said “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay” Deut 32:35 and Heb. 10:30,31, as it is, it is only God who will afflict the guilty, Rom 12:19.

Paul Did Not Know The Lord Would Tarry

Paul thought the Lord was coming in his day and spoke that way as in 2 Thess 1:7, he speaks of the Lord Jesus Christ rescuing the Church of Thessalonica as well as Paul, Timothy and Silvanus. Paul considers the Rapture event “Relief from Affliction”.

The Revealing of Jesus Christ

And His Mighty Angels In Flaming Fire!

Paul says the Lord Jesus Christ will appear along with His Angels, in flaming fire at the time of the Rapture of the Church. When the Lord is revealed to us, His Church, He will also, at that time, deal out some retribution to those who have rejected the Gospel. As you know, those who die without Christ, (the unsaved), will spend eternity in destruction and eternally away from the face of God, and from His Glory and Power.

Paul says, when Jesus Christ comes for his Church, and to be glorified in His Saints and to be marveled at by all who have believed… meaning believed the testimony of Jesus Christ through Paul and others who have shared the Gospel with you, and you accepted the Lord and got saved, and all this before His return, God will call your name when He returns for His Church to “Come Up Here” Rev. 4:1,2, that the Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you at “The Rapture”.

The Coming of our Lord Jesus Christ

And our Gathering Together To Him

“The Rapture”

Paul wants you to be totally convinced and assured that the day of the Lord and our gathering together to Him has not occurred yet. We know this by the signs of the times. He says that the first thing that will occur is the apostasy, a falling away from the true and only God, Jesus Christ. He calls it “The Apostasy”. The Church in a Luke-warm state Rev. 3:16, full of false preachers and teachers. The Word of God has been watered down to “Lip Service” Isa. 29:13. Finding “True Faith”, is like finding a needle in a haystack. At this time the church has become rich and is in need of nothing. Their wealth keeps them from depending upon our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It keeps them blind; they don’t know that they are really poor, miserable, and naked without Him, Rev. 3:17. All of us are responsible to study and learn, passing all we know on to our children so they pass it on if the Lord tarries. We cannot dress ourselves properly and cannot see through our eyes straight and view the warnings of His coming. The Church of Thessalonians was bragged about by Paul because they were learning and preparing for the second coming of Jesus Christ, Rev. 3:18.

Paul says the Rapture process order is:

·         The Apostasy 2 Thess 2:3

·         The Rapture 2 Thess 2:6,7

·         The Antichrist 2 Thess 2:8

Antichrist will come with the agenda of Satan and will be a smooth talker deceiving those who did not and would not receive the love of the truth in order to be saved. Antichrist will have supernatural power and will exercise his false wonders before men. Major help will be awarded him when God sends everyone a deluding influence so that they might believe what is false. These people left after the Rapture of the Church will not receive a second chance to receive Jesus Christ as personal Savior. They took pleasure in wickedness, 2 Thess 2:12.

We Who Do Get Raptured…

It is because the Church is a mystery. We were chosen for salvation from the beginning, through the sanctification by the Holy Spirit and faith in truth. God specifically called YOU for salvation through the Gospel to attain “The Gory of Jesus Christ”.

So then… stand firm in the traditions you were taught from the Holy Scriptures, the Bible. This is the tradition which was handed down to you!

So who’s who in the Church? Is Everyone Saved? No!

The purpose of God in this present age is the calling out of his Church all those who truly believe in what Jesus Christ has already done at the cross and said, “It is finished”. All that is to be done from that point of His work is to just simply believe the message of Christ. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that who so ever would believe in Him should not perish but will have ever lasting life (John 3:16).

The Rapture event will abruptly bring to a close the Church age. It is nowhere dated in the prophecies of the Old Testament, described as the dramatic removal of the Church from earth as the dead in Christ are raised, and the living Christians are caught up to heaven without dieing. You will find this taught in 1 Cor. 15:51-58 and 1 Thess. 4:13-18. This event brings to a close the purpose of God in terms of the Church as a separate company of saints, and the departure of the Church will set the stage for the major events leading up to the second coming of Christ to earth to set up His Kingdom. This will also set up the final three (3) periods between the Rapture and the second coming;

1.    The Period of Preparation

2.    The Period of Peace

3.    The Period of Persecution

The Rapture will remove every saved person from the earth. It will be very dramatic as God intervenes in human history. The removal of all Christians from the earth will permit the demonstration of evil in the world and the fulfillment of the satanic purpose in a way never before possible.

Phase One: The professing Church will remain on earth after the Rapture. This is why now is the time that you are to know for certain you are truly saved and understand the events that will come upon the face of the whole world. The Rapture event will leave only the professing Church, composed entirely of unsaved individuals on the earth to fulfill prophecies related to Christendom. The professing Church after the Rapture is symbolized by the worship of any god you please, the “Harlot” of Revelation 17 which is pictured riding on the back of the Beast is the political power of our time. Her domination is over the whole world symbolized by the many waters, Rev. 17:1-15. It seems clear from Scripture that the world Church is in the stage of complete and total apostasy with every true Christian removed. It will be a movement toward a world Church and a world religion encompassing all the false religions of the world. It will be devoid of the redeeming features of true Christian doctrine.

Rapture Scriptures!

Behold, I tell you a mystery; we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed. (1 Cor 15:51,52 NASB)

But we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve, as do the rest who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus. For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive, and remain until the coming of the Lord, shall not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and thus we shall always be with the Lord. (1 Th 4:13-17 NASB)
